Description
Created in 1971, the Louis Poulsen Panthella is a modern and popular design from Verner Panton.

The main principle behind the Panthella is that both the base and the shade act as a reflector. The lamps light source is hidden under a white, hemispheric acrylic shade and a white, trumpet-like base contributes to a beautiful distribution of light and a well balanced form. Several versions were produced during its early days, but Panthella with white shade and base is the only edition in production today.

The IC T1 High Table Lamp designed by Michael Anastassiades is part of the IC collection, a series of lights from Flos that explore balance.

The design takes the form of a sphere that is perfectly balanced on the edge of a rod and explores this throughout the lighting series. Anastassiades took inspiration from an online video of a contact juggler spinning a set of spheres, moving them around on his arms and edge of his fingers. Watching mesmerised by the magic of his skill suddenly the spheres looked perfectly still. In pursuit of capturing this exact moment is where Anastassiades began and the IC designs were born.

Ilse Crawford chose honest materials that carry clear messages: iron for its feelings of stability, reliability, trust; wood with its warmth and life, and mineral plastic for its intimate glow, as well as its tactility. When put together three three materials create a certain oddness. Amp has a nostalgic but contemporary feel. The designer has highlighted the essential details, such as the way the shade rests on the socket.
